About the academy

Sanusi Academy exists to help students verify belief with proof, read inherited texts with precision, and remain anchored in adab, worship, and spiritual accountability.
Core narrative
Not more content. A better intellectual path.
Modern Muslims are surrounded by claims: scientific, historical, political, therapeutic, anti-religious, and religious. The need is not simply more reminders, but a disciplined way to understand evidence, proof, judgment, and the proper place of reason before revelation.
Reason does not stand above revelation as a rival authority. It is the faculty by which the human being recognizes revelation's truth, understands its implications, and learns the limits of created intellect.
North African inheritance
The Maghrib preserved a pedagogy of concise texts, commentary, memorization, public teaching, logic, usul, spiritual discipline, and adab al-bahth.
Sanusian verification
Imam al-Sanusi's works teach students to move from basic creed to verified judgment: what is necessary, impossible, possible, and why it matters.

Dr. Abdurrahman Mihirig
Postdoctoral Fellow in Philosophy · Christ Church, University of Oxford
Dr. Abdurrahman Mihirig completed his PhD in Philosophy at the Ludwig-Maximilian University of Munich in 2024 and holds a Walter Benjamin Fellowship at Oxford. He earned master's degrees in Islamic philosophy from Harvard University and Ibn Haldun University in Istanbul, following bachelor's degrees in History and Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia.
His research centers on metaphysics, epistemology, and the philosophy of mind and language in the Arabic philosophical and kalam tradition, with particular attention to Ash'ari kalam. His current scholarly work includes translating and writing philosophical commentary on Imam al-Sanusi's commentary on the major creed — the Sanusian spine at the heart of this program.
Alongside his academic training, he has studied with traditional scholars of the Muslim world, including Shaykh Saeed Fodeh and Dr. Aref Nayed.
